Saturday, 17th April saw our first re-enactment filmed at Bishops Bridge, near Maitland. This scene saw a despondent elderly chief, Moka Te Kaingamata, as he reflects back to the time of the signing of Te Tiriti o Waitangi. He sits by a fire, rueing the fact that his chiefly peers, and a brother, signed the Treaty, as he witnesses the beginning of the NZ Land Wars. This will be the final scene within the re-enactments. Shout outs go to Taawhi (Moka) for his patience and wonderful acting skills, Kris for his filming expertise and Tamihana for the preparation of our film site and assisting with props, lighting, etc.
